The BTH design features a metal band that goes behind the head and a Velcro strap that goes over the head. The BTH style is popular with race drivers and pit crews because it allows the user to wear a hat or safety helmet over the Velcro head strap. The OTH design uses a thick metal band that goes over the top of the head. Rugged headsets are built to perform in extreme noise environments.
